October 16, 2017. Since about half of these boxes were missing, I am archiving this series. Thanx for giving it a look-see.

Off interstate 90 at exit 29. Go north on Rte. 8 to the first traffic light by Wendy's. Turn left onto Wager Road. About a mile, go past the Nature Resource Center to go in the driveway to the parking lots. Park in the lower parking lot for the letterboxing. You may wish to go into the Nature Center, open M-F...8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The park is open dawn to dusk, year round.

“Along with over 70 acres and three miles of trails, visitors can also enjoy 6 geocaches, a self-guided tree trail, and a Quest focusing on the Mill Creek Flood of 1915. Hike. Picnic. Snowshoe. Snap extraordinary photos. Hunt for salamanders with a child. Listen. Enjoy.”

These boxes are planted with permission, but as always, be aware of the muggles around you. Please be careful where you walk, try not to damage the vegetation. It's an easy hike, but, could be...probably will be... wet/muddy...we've had a lot of rain, so come prepared for wet feet. PLEASE TAKE TIME TO RESEAL ALL THE BAGS. They are all small green camo bags. You can use black ink for all of these.

Park in the lower parking lot. Walk to your left and notice the “raised beds” and “compost area”. Proceed to the driveway and go to your right to the farm gate and the trail.

Go to the right to the brown pavilion. At the far end of the building, start counting approximately 32 steps to a “V” maple on your left. Here you will find the RACCOON hiding.

Continue straight ahead to the clearing and you will see the Headwaters Park sign. You can find maps and tree guides in the mailbox. Cross the bridge and you will come to a “T”. On your right, you will see a “V” tree. The BIRD resides here.

At the “T” (Braided Stream), go to your right. Continue straight ahead til you come to the “Y” at the Vernal Ponds. Take the right trail, and as you are crossing the bridge, notice the “V” tree on the right. This is the DEER stand.

Retracing your steps, go back to the Vernal Ponds intersection, go left and then go right across from the benches. Cross 2 bridges and go to your right and cross 2 more bridges. Continue around to your left (Do Not Go To The Water) to the “Y”. Bear to your right and you will find a short/tall “V” tree on your left. The LIZARD has crawled in there.

Go back to the main path, turn right and take the curvy path up the small hill. Stay to your left at the next intersection. Go over the black pipe bridge. At the next intersection, stay to the right. Next intersection...go straight (or to your left) and count approximately 23-25 steps. This should put you in line with a small “V” tree where the TIGER is crouching.

Continue on the path. Go thru the clearing and look to your left for #14. On your right shortly thereafter, there will be a “V” maple tree. The HAWK is perched here.

Continue on to the “T”. Go left and stay on the main trail. Before you go down a slight incline, there is a “V” apple tree on your left a bit off the path. The WOLF has taken shelter in this tree.

Back on the trail, cross the board bridge. Right in front of you is another “V” tree. The SPIDER has found a home here.

Keep gong to the next “T”. A no-motorized vehicle sign will be on your right. Go left to the fenced enclosure. Go right and go up the hill and back to the parking lot.

Don't forget to log your finds on Atlasquest and/or Letterboxing. Hope you enjoyed the game.
If you geocache, there are geocaches in this park as well. Have fun.
