Rocky Road Letterbox
This letterbox is located along the Coventry Greenway bike path on Rt 117, Coventry RI. This bike path is built over an old freight railroad that was in operation as recently as 1980. Entrance to the bike path is at the Coventry Town Hall/Library. Park in the small lot to the right as you enter. Walk the short path and bare to the right at the bike path entrance to continue in the direction of the box. Take in some pretty scenery and refreshing breezes on the steps to the pond on your left. Continue on the path. You will cross Ayoho Rd and White Head Rd. After you cross White Head Rd there will be a hill to your left and a valley to your right. Continue to your right. The box is hidden in the rocks on the right side. The box sits in a crevice under one of the large rocks with graffiti on it. There are two small rocks protecting the box. Please hide the box as you found it, as this is a very busy bike path. Continue on the bike path for some beautiful wooded scenery or head back to the library lot. This bike path goes for miles either way with several entrances. It's a great, newly paved, path for bikers and walkers...especially walkers with four legs (please take a pup poop bag found at the entrance station...there aren't any along the path). We love walking this path all four seasons. Leaf catching in the fall is always fun. It does get icy in the winter so use caution and wear good boots...the scenery is worth it!!
