The Governor’s Y

This fun letterbox is at Faust Park

Frederick Bates was the second governor of Missouri – from 1924 until his death in office in 1925. His home is preserved at Faust Park.

Clue:
Enter Faust Park from the main entrance from Olive Blvd. Enter the round-about and go past the first exit into a parking lot. Take the next exit which guides you along a paved road past the Butterfly House. You may be greeted by some inquisitive geese and five stick men! Be alert!

As you come to the bend in the road, take the left onto the gravel road that leads to the Governor’s house. You will pass a lovely white bench, but continue to the end of the road and park in the circle.

Walk through the gate to approach the white house (Governor’s house). Continue past the old barns and the memorial orchard.

Notice a sign as you meander down the trail. Count the nine straight trees on your right!
Further down the road you will see a ‘Pets on leash only’ sign and a pile of sticks on the left.
As you continue on the path, find a ‘Sassafras’ sign. From this sign take about 103 lunges and you will arrive at a set of benches – take a moment to relax.

Look around and you will see a large downed tree. The letterbox lives at the “Y”.

Thank you for searching ‘animaltracker’ letterboxing. Take a sticker and please enter your name and the date in our book! Let me know if there are no more stickers or if you cannot find the box.
Happy hunting!
