These boxes are how I learned about letterboxing. If it had not been for Girl Scouts, I would still be living in the dark. My troop had a great time picking out their special stamps, going on our own letterbox hunt, putting their own letterboxes together and finding just the right spot to hide them.

***You may need to do a little bit of "bushwacking" if you hunt for these letterboxes in the summer time. We have done our best to avoid posion ivy, and I have made notes where I have found it. Bug spray is a must in the summer!

Take the park road all the way to the lake. If you are lucky, you may get a spot in the very small lot on the right by the beach. If not, you can continue on the circle drive to the parking lot next to the boat trailer parking. You could also try parking in the lot by the restrooms. If you park by the rest rooms, walk along the paved path down the wooden stairs toward the beach.

Walk along the paved path, keeping the lake on on your right. When the path ends, keep walking. You will notice a small wooden dock on the right. Check carefully, directly underneath the dock for box 1.

Continue walking right next to the lake until the path seems to end. Check again, there is a narrow path that continues into the foliage. Just inside is a very large rotting tree. Located inside is box 2

Head back the way you came and face the storage garage. There is a brick retaining wall on the right-hand side. Look for box 3 hidden along the wall.

Walk back towards the beach, keeping the garage on your right. Just before you pass the green electrical box you will notice a narrow path heading up the hill along the side of the garage. Before you get past the edge of the roof you will notice a very large tree that appears to have several small trunks growing out of the base of the original tree. Hidden around the trunks is box 4.

Carefully go back the way you came, staying along the treeline and walk towards the playground. Stop when the slide is on your left. Turn your head to the right and note the trail going up into the woods. A few paces behind the slim electrical box is a long, rotting log. This is the location of your final box.
