In Lava Beds National Monument.
Take the road to Mammoth Crater. Park near the crater. After checking out the crater (be sure to try out the echo!), cross the road to the Hidden Valley Trail.
Follow the trail to the end of the asphalt. Start counting 61 steps from the end of the asphalt, continuing to follow the trail.
The trail branches at this point with the trail to the left going to the edge of Hidden Valley. Take the left branch for 14 steps. There should be a large fissure on the right. To the left is a shallow fissure. The box is located in the fissure and is covered with sticks, pine needles and cones.
Difficulty rating: 2 - Average
Terrain rating: 2 - Suitable for small children
