The Eden Valley Cemetery is a tiny, no longer used cemetery outside of Palouse, WA, on the Palouse Highway between Colfax and Palouse. The earliest grave in the cemetery is from 1880 (Mary Fisher was buried in 1880, and born in 1796!), and the last burial appears to have been in 1991. It's a cool little cemetery, and we have planted our first letter box in it! First, get to the Eden Valley Cemetery. From Palouse, you'll find it just after the mile 12 marker, on the right hand side. Look for a flag pole and some gravestones on the right, there will be a small dirt road that passes under a white metal archway reading "Eden Valley Cemetery". From Colfax, keep your eyes peeled after mile marker 11, it will be directly after the Blair's black mailbox.

Drive up the hill on the dirt road, past the flagpole on your left. Go straight ahead and park. Look for: rusty barrel, then a table, then a bench. Go down the path by the lilacs on your left to the Hughes's family gravestone. Look under the granite stone to the right of their headstone, by the lilac bush.

Please be careful to cover it up well when you're done! My 11 year old daughter made the box, the clues, and the stamp.
