"On The Run" is the first box in the Olentangy Trail Series that runs along the Olentangy River Bike Trail. With the help of another letterboxer, OneFishTwoFish, our intentions are to place enough boxes that will establish and connect urban boxes of downtown Columbus in the south to the suburban boxes on the bike trail in the north. Being an urban letterboxer, I chose to place my first box near my home in Victorian Village.

The hunt begins at the intersection of Olentangy River Road and West Third Avenue between the urban communities of Victorian Village/Harrison West and Grandview Heights. Parking can be found on the northwest corner of the intersection as well as Perry Avenue (first street on the east side of the Olentangy River). Locate the southeast corner and head south on the bike trail until you reach the 1.5 mile marker designated by a wooden post and a line on the pavement. From this marker, continue south for 59 paces or 118 steps until you come to the first railroad bridge. On the southwest side of the bridge, you will see a single tree atop a small hill. Climb up the embankment and locate the ring of stone. Buried in the center of the ring, you will find the hidden treasure. Be careful and watch for all those people "on the run".
