THIS BOX WAS REPLANTED NOVEMBER 2012
One box in Flanders Nature Preserve (Whittemore Sanctuary) in Woodbury on Rt. 64 just 0.3 miles over the line when leaving Middlebury. The box may well be in Middlebury but the parking lot is in Woodbury. I think the white trail has been expanded since the trail map on the map board was printed. No hunting allowed.
Going west on Rt. 64 watch for the brown nature preserve sign on the right. After parking your car look for the white trail which goes left and right, go right around the large rocks blocking it off to traffic. You'll pass a blue trail right away and a little further on a green trail. Cross over a little boardwalk and keep to the white which mainly follows the woods road until you come to an intersection with an unmarked trail. take the unmarked trail to left until you come to the red trail. Take the red trail and in a little less than a quarter mile up a small incline you'll notice a clump of rocks with a tree in the midst on your left. If you come to a red blaze you went too far. In between the clump of rocks you will find the the F.F. letterbox.
I don't know how busy this place gets in the good weather so be very careful to hide completely.
If you choose to go to the left in the parking lot stay on white (over three miles) till the lake comes in view and you get to the intersection with the unmarked trail. Follow directions above and thanks for hunting.
