Come see where Zane Grey lived and started writing his famous novels along the Delaware River! His house is now a museum and is open every day from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend from 10 AM until 5 PM. Otherwise, the museum is open Wednesday through Sunday until Columbus day weekend. Even if the museum is not open, you are free to walk the grounds and learn how Zane, his wife Dolly, and friends and relatives lived here. Pick up a trail guide for Dolly’s Garden Path on the porch of the Zane Grey Museum and come play!

Clues:
Follow Dolly’s Garden Path starting on the South side of the house. Be sure to read the information in the trail guide as you come to each post. Notice where Zane’s tennis court used to be and eye the lilac bush next to the little “out” building on the south side of the court. (Remember why the lilac bush was planted there?) Feel under the northeast corner of that out building you passed earlier. There you will find the equipment needed to have a game of tennis with Zane or Dolly.

Be sure to close the box tightly with the contents safely inside zipped baggies and return it so that it cannot be seen but is reachable for the next letterboxer. Placed with permission from the superintendent of the Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River.

Hike length: 0.1 miles
