The letterbox is located at Kitenui lookout in Piha. The easiest way to access the letterbox is to park half way down Glenesk Road and take the Maungaroa Lookout Track. Part way along the track there is an unmarked track to the right, which leads up to Kitenui Lookout and the letterbox. There is a rock at the lookout which can be used as a seat, from here the letterbox is a couple of metres to your left (when facing Piha.) It is hidden at the base of a small tree, tucked in behind an astelia bush.
