Lincoln Logs were invented in 1916 by John Lloyd Wright, son of the architect Frank Lloyd Wright, and consisted of notched miniature wood logs used to build small forts and buildings. It also had red roof supports and green roof slats, and as a kid I spent hours creating things with them. When I heard of the Linkins Lake Trail with an old mining cabin above, I just had to place this letterbox there.

Directions:
Go east on Hwy 82 about 18.5 miles to the last switchback before Independence Pass and park on left at Linkins Lake Trail head.

Clues:
Walk up on trail along creek to jct with Lost Man Trail and go left to Linkins Lake. Continue on small path around left side of lake and up to old mining cabin. From back left side of cabin, go south up slope 14 steps to left side of rock outcropping. LB is in crevice under flat rocks.
