Terrain Difficulty: Easy (flat, 50 yards RT)
Status: alive
Born in 1844, Cyrus "Doc" Shores was a famous and respected lawman of the early days on Colorado's Western Slope. He served as the sheriff of Gunnison County when it was still wild and was noted as the lawman who captured Alferd Packer, the infamous Colorado Cannibal. He was also known as the "Bloodhound Sheriff" for doggedly tracking down fleeing outlaws like a bloodhound. He died in 1934 and is buried in Gunnison Cemetery, where you can find this box.
Directions:
From Main Street in Gunnison go east on Hwy 50 about 1.5 miles to Gunnison Cemetery on the left. Go straight through entrance then right at circle along section 46 to next intersection. Turn right and immediately park by Doc Shores grave on right.
Clues:
Walk behind grave 30 steps to Kroll stone then go right 9 steps to small bush. LB is in middle of bush under bark and mulch.
