Distance: ~ 1.5 mile roundtrip
Time: 30-60 minutes
Terrain: Hilly dirt path, with some loose soil and rocks at points. May want to bring hiking sticks.

If you’ve started to participate in Quest Scouts, this box will help you meet the FIND objective for the Cardboard Adventure quest. If you haven’t started doing Quest Scouts, what are you waiting for?! (Scouting for adults: www.questscouts.com)

Game instructions:

Get your starting piece(s) to the appropriate trailhead.

You see several options for moving along the board, but the one that you should choose to start the game is the grassy green route heading south. You may notice some numbers high in the trees to guide you along the board.

When you reach a “T” point, shake things up by changing directions to the east.

When you reach the high “6” on the game board your stroll through the easy route of Candyland is over.

Now you have moved into “Chutes and Ladders” territory! Choose the east path and head UP. You will notice that the game posts are now lower to the ground.

All players must stop at post 5 if they wish to collect treasure. The random card drawn from the deck says “Take 22 steps at 40° and look between the large tree and a small triple trunk.”

To ensure that the game remains available to future players, please cunningly reassemble the treasure trove.

Hopefully you are now a victorious gamer, so return to the trail and continue along the game board. When you reach “11” follow the left path until you mysteriously reach “8”. Now take the righteous route to finish the game. Congratulations!

Please send us an email to let us know if you “won the game”.

Hike length: 1-2 miles
