My husband introduced me to boating in 2009, driving our boat to many wonderful locations, anchoring and taking in the views. This has put a whole new spin on "camping" for me.
Our favorite destination is Block Island and it is here I've planted my first letterbox in this collection of "On the Water."
UPDATE: July 23, 2019
Box has been compromised, and most likely a victim of the orb seekers or confusion with geocaching.
BOX HAS BEEN REPLACED AND CLUES UPDATED WITH A NEW LOCATION. REPLANT: August 6, 2020
Make your way to the Island Cemetery and enter through the paved entrance with Ball’s on your left. Take your first right and stand next to the 5 sister tree and look for the three column temple of stone.
While standing next to the three column temple of stone, you will be surrounded by 4 Celtic crosses. The one you seek is Parting Glass. From there, walk SW ‘as good as it gets.’ Turn and walk towards the whale tail that springs from the ground. On your left is a small stone wall and remove the keystone to find your prize.
(Hint: 3rd stone front top)
NOTE: hand-carved stamp found abandoned in Rodman’s Hollow two years ago and gave it a new home. Enjoy 😉
Hike length: 3-5 miles
