It's an island so you must come by boat, or there is a small airport on the island if you prefer. Directions by boat: anchor in West Harbor, or take the ferry out of Spicer's Marina in Noank, CT or the ferry out of New London, CT to Fishers Island, NY
Find your way to the Fishers Island Yacht Club located in West Harbor to start your search. From the Yacht Club, take a left down the street until you come to a place where Abner Doubleday will feel at home. From there, take a left and find a field of final repose on the left. At the entrance, walk due South and search for the place where "BEST" is laid to rest. Born in 1914 - take 14 steps to your left. Turn right and find your prize in the notch of a large V.
At the time of this posting The Peqot, the only bar/restaurant on Fishers Island, has closed after 18 years. Very sad and hope it will reopen next season.
