Trail difficulty: very easy, flat path.
Walk distance: very short
Stamp hand-carved.
Status: alive and well on August 10, 2016
From I-94 on the west side of Medora, take exit 24 and drive southeast on Pacific Ave. towards Medora. Turn right (south) on Chateau Rd. (no street sign; it is just before the bridge over the Little Missouri River). Drive past the Chateau de Mores Visitor Center, then bear right up hill passing a house on the right. Near the top turn right into the cemetery (there is a white arrow sign there that says cemetery). Park on left near the maintenance shed.
Walk to the utility boxes on the outside of the northwest corner of the cemetery fence. From the fence corner post walk at about 252 degrees (from mag. north) for about 26 steps to a cluster of Sagebrush. The box is inside the cluster on the southwest side of the largest bush under some flat rocks.
Please please be sure the contents are double ziplocked when you put them back in the box (i.e. the stamp is in a ziploc, the book is in a ziploc, and the two are in the larger ziploc bag) and put all of it INSIDE the box. Please rehide the box well under the rocks and covered with some twigs and plant debris so that it can not be seen from any direction.
Please record your find at www.letterboxing.org/ or at www.atlasquest.com/ .
From this cemetery there is a great view of the river and surrounding countryside.
