…I won’t be at the MALL!

I’ll be hiking somewhere near that hill-
I’m gonna wear my socks and shoes-
I’m gonna stake my claim and plant a box or two!

To find my hiking spot, your gonna need the name of the band whose song pays ode to another “Dark” Friday quite a few years ago!

From the parking lot, look for #10, take the trail to the left - this is where you begin. Continue on to the Y, 190 degrees you will head. At the next intersection 110 degrees is the way to go. Passing a large pile of cement logs on the right, curving around, now 60 degrees at the Y/T. Hiking along, a “V” stump on the right, on to a 4-way where you should continue on, down to a rock and a T. Set your sights for 135, and away you will head. Again a rock, and now a Y, 180 degrees is your course. Along the way a 10 ft. stump to the left, a side trail, keep the course past old “34”. At a LARGE rock pile on your right, head away at 110. Now at the next Y, 120 degrees will set you on your way. Ravine on your left, keep on the path, over the culvert, passing arrow through stump on your right. Keep moving along, ignoring side trails up to a Y - Continuing EAST, shortly ahead, another Y you will spy. Now take the route at 95 degrees, passing the jagged stump on right, then curving around to the left, continue to follow the path down. Almost to the end, a LARGE rock you will see, holding a fallen one up. Across the path, two crooked V’s, now this is where you should look- behind the RIGHT one, tucked in between the roots, a fallen one, a small gift under a SPOR!

Now back to the Y- if you want more of a hike and a little adventure, head off to the RIGHT and enjoy the rest of the trails- if not, start to retrace your steps. Head right at the leaning post with the white metal tag. Then right again at the rocks, and ahead see an arrow pointing your way. Now left at the rock. For an alternate route back, at the next intersection with a rock, take the path on the right. At next intersection, veer left between the skinny trees, passing a large fallen one on the right. Then continue straight at next crossing, through the trees, following the trail, your vehicle should be just ahead.

Hope you enjoyed hitting the trails, instead of the aisles!
Box updates always appreciated – Thanks!

** Just a note, this trail has rocks, roots, and can be icy in winter- watch your step!

Hike length: 1-2 miles
