From the Parking area take the trail. The river will be on your right. At the first fork in the trail bear right. Go about 40 paces. You will see a sandy area on the path. Continue straight ahead. At the next fork in the trail you will see a rusty pipe on the left. Take the path that is opposite of the rusty pipe. Pass another rusty pipe that will be on your left. Continue past a rusty pipe that is on the right side of the trail. Up ahead you will see yet another rusty pipe that is off trail in the woods. Continue walking on the trail and look for the cornerstone. When you are at the cornerstone, turn to face the river. Walk toward the river and look for the broken, split tree stump. The box is hidden in the hollow of the trunk. Watch out for the wild roses.
If you get to the railroad tracks you have gone too far.
