Uvalde is known as the "City of Trees". It is also the home of John Nance Garner, better known as "Cactus Jack," a former Vice President of the United States (1933-1941). The letterbox is near Cactus Jack's grave. Go to City Cemetery south of Uvalde on US90. There are signs to Cactus Jack's grave to make it easy to find it. After reading his historical marker look beyond his grave to the big tree. Walk toward it and you will see Samuel Britton's headstone. Directly behind it is a stump with sprouts growing out of it. This is where you will find the box.
