The Lomita Railroad Museum is devoted to California railroad history during the steam era. You will receive a self-guided tour brochure when you enter, but try to get a docent-led tour. The museum is small, quaint, and charming - perfect for a mellow afternoon.

Directions to the Letterbox:
The letterbox is not located in the main museum area. Across the street from the museum is a small gated park with a box car and a tanker. Enter the park ( it's unlocked during museum hours). In the corner between the box car and tanker is a single large tree. The letterbox is located in a hole at the back of the tree towards the base hidden under leaves and foliage.

Hike length: 0.1 miles
