Planted in celebration of lionsmane's decade of letterboxing; his newspaper interview about letterboxing lured us in, and his letterboxes and enthusiastic encouragement since have kept us excited about planting and searching. Thanks to Astro D. for the planting and to Arnold Ziffel for the support.
Warning: This letterbox is in a former nut container: Allergic folks may want to pass.
Watch out for snakes, cacti needles and stingy things.
This is not a geocache so please do not take the stamp in trade and leave no trinkets.
Bring your own ink.
Directions:
From the light at the north side of the exit at I-25 and Old Pecos Trail – get on Old Las Vegas Highway and head east. When you see the turnoff for Nine Mile Road on the right (4 or 5 miles down Old Las Vegas Highway), take it and follow Nine Mile Rd. all the way to the end. Park and go straight down the trail and under the trestle. You are now on the Rail Trail. Turn right (towards Santa Fe) and walk for about 10 minutes.
Clue:
Northbound, when volary 7 tea won is west,
look back
to the pallid post
and,on the other side of the trail,
to the kaput tree.
Under would buy fence
Butt knot under where.
Please rehide exactly where you found it, completely covered so that it blends in with the natural environment. Please reseal the logbook in the baggy to protect it in case the lid fails.
Hike length: 1-2 miles
