A nice walk along a major trail in Nicholas Farm Management Area in Coventry. Total out and back distance should be just under a mile and some spots my be prone to minor flooding. Please keep in mind that there is seasonal hunting here, so be prepared to wear orange as required. Current hunting regulations can be found at http://www.dem.ri.gov/pubs/regs/#FandW. No ink included - brown and green brush markers recommended.

Parking can be found at the intersection of Greenhouse Road and Newport Road. From here, follow the dirt road north. A short distance up the road, a historical cemetery can be seen on the left - CY11, the Col. Joseph Rice Lot. Continue up the road for about 3/10 of a mile until the original road disappears and an alternate route heads off to the right. From here, you can see why the road is now closed to vehicles. Seems somebody has been quite busy...

Follow the new detour to the right. Continue along the turns for a short distance and you will soon come to an intersection. If you go straight ahead a short distance (which I'd recommend either before or after finding the letterbox), you can see the "major improvement" that was made to force the new detour. Heading left at the intersection will take you straight to the original path which now cannot be traveled. Turn left here.

On the left hand side, the barest remnants of a basic foundation can be found. (You will have now walked about 3/4 around it.) Halfway between this foundation and the intersection (about 30' North of the foundation) is a multi-trunked birch. At the base where these trees meet, "TIMBERRRR!" can be found beneath some natural cover.
The stamp uses greens and browns, just like a tree!
