Terrain/Distance Pretty flat/drive up. No hike, uneven ground.
Please bring your stamp, a stamp pad, pen and an old rag to wipe off the box/your hands.
The Church is located by the rest stop on H.W. 32/50/7 ~ (approx.) 2.7 miles N.E. of Coolville or 11.5 miles S.W. of Belpre or ~ 25 miles S.E. of Athens, Ohio.
Clues:
Find "the Healing Chapel" across from the rest stop at the intersection of H.W. 32/50/7 and Athens County road 63. (Just 2 miles North of Coolville Ohio) Pull into the gravel parking area just before the church and go to the end by the rock pile. Go in and visit the 10' by 14' Healing Chapel which is open 24-7 and is fully decorated and functional. Sit down and relax, sign in the Lord's guest book and leave a prayer note if you wish, then go back to the rock pile.
Lift the top rock and find the letterbox in the crack. It is now a plastic jar wrapped in camo-duct tape with a green screw top lid. Take the jar to your car for the stamping and when done please double seal the baggie for the log and reseal both the baggies well.
Please replace the letterbox as you found it and I hope you enjoyed the Church. It is quite peaceful and perfect for a little meditation/relaxation/prayer during your trip/outing.
NOTE: This location and description was originally "Smallest Church" by Safari Man (R.I.P.) and was retired upon his passing in 2013. It is resurrected with a store stamp in light of continued interest in an easy, drive-up box in SE Ohio that others might enjoy. No infringement is intended.
