We were asked to teach Brownie Scouts about Letterboxing (and Geocaching). This Letterbox Hybrid is on another side of the park from existing geocaches. It will lead you on a little adventure along the V-Ditch behind Robinson Elementary School.

Anyone can find this, You don't have to be a Brownie Scout.

Brownie Troop 3176 has FOUND the BOX around2:30 on 4/27/2016.

There are two other caches in this park and for a long time there was a letterbox nearly UNDER one of those caches I Like Ike . Geocachers would find the REGULAR sized Letterbox (with the stamp pad in it) on the GROUND when the geocache is listed as MIRCO and HANGING and log it as a find on the geocache. We do not want that confusion to continue. So, we are placing a Letterbox (Hybrid) here AND listing it on Geocaching (www.geocaching.com) as well.

Our steps aren't big. They are not "pacing" steps. They may vary from yours so use the other clues to help you find the Letterbox. The Stamp is an OWL, "the Wise Old Owl" from (this is just ONE version) the Brownie Story that is often used in the Investiture Ceremony and found in the Brownie Girl Scout Girl Guide book and other places.

  • Please park along Lindsey Drive away from the school and near the park where you can see the playground.

  • Now for the adventure.

  • Head South along the sidewalk inside the park towards the baseball backstop.

  • You should see two warped tables behind the backstop. (must be really tricky to have a picnic here) Go stand between them and face the trees on the slope.

  • You will see THREE trees. Between the 2 smaller ones is a trail.

  • Take about 13 steps on that trail (It’s a little to the West) and you should see a concrete V-Ditch through the trees.

  • Follow the V-Ditch (to your right) about 42 to 50 steps to where there are pipes going across.

  • Carefully step over them.

  • Take about another 35 to 43 steps as the V-Ditch will curve to your left and head more South, you will come to a down drain. Carefully cross it.

  • About 35 to 40 steps farther is another pipe. And a bush to the school side.

  • Below you there will be a large concrete pad and some fencing in the parking lot.

  • You are now VERY close to the location of the letterbox.

  • Look in the bush where it touches the pipe and find the Letterbox.

Follow the letterbox clues. The "steps" are only approximate.
