This letterbox is part of the GO and Be Active! program in York County, PA. It will be available from June 1, 2016 – August 14, 2016. Further details about the program may be found at www.goyork.org.

The GO and Be Active! program requires you to search for up to 30 “activities” – wooden posts with engraved plates on them, instead of a traditional letterbox and stamp. Please carefully rub the impression (with a colored pencil or crayon) from the engraved plate onto your GO and Be Active! rubbing sheet, available at any York County Library.

This letterbox is located at P. Joseph Raab County Park and should be accessed from the parking lot off Hoff Road. GO York! level of difficulty = Hard.

• Starting from the parking lot, walk past the yellow gate and follow the grass trail along the woods edge.
• Continue following the trail as it goes through the woods.
• The trail will come out of the woods and continue along the edge of the field.
• This grass trail becomes trail 1. Continue on this trail as it bends to the right and goes downhill.
• At the very bottom of the hill, make a left. The trail will enter the woods.
• As you walk through the woods there will be a small stream on your right.
• You will come to an intersection in the trail. Continue following the trail straight.
• You will pass a bat cave on the left at the base of the hill. Make sure to check it out before you leave!
• The trail will eventually come to a creek crossing. Here is where you will find the post.
• To return to your vehicle, turn around and start walking back the way you came.
• Walk about 100 yards and you will come to an intersection. Make a right and follow the trail up a steep hill through the woods.
• Toward the top of the hill you will see a large rock wall on the right. Take a minute to enjoy the view!
• At the top of the hill you will come to another intersection. Make a left and follow the trail out of the woods.
• At the grass trail, make a right and go up the hill.
• Continue to follow this trail back to the parking lot.

Hike length: 1-2 miles
