This letterbox is part of the GO and Be Active! program in York County, PA. It will be available from June 1, 2016 – August 14, 2016. Further details about the program may be found at www.goyork.org.

The GO and Be Active! program requires you to search for up to 30 “activities” – wooden posts with engraved plates on them, instead of a traditional letterbox and stamp. Please carefully rub the impression (with a colored pencil or crayon) from the engraved plate onto your GO and Be Active! rubbing sheet, available at any York County Library.

This letterbox is located at Highpoint County Park and should be accessed from the parking lot off Hilts Road. GO York! level of difficulty = Easy.

• Starting from the parking lot, walk to the trail entrance in front of the restrooms.
• Start to head up the gravel path as it starts to go uphill.
• At Way Stop marker 4 make sure to stop and check out the view of the Susquehanna River Valley.
• Keep following the gravel path up the hill.
• As you near the top you will see another view of the river and the surrounding area around Highpoint County Park.
• As you continue walking up the gravel path you will come to an old water fountain. This is where you will find the rubbing post.
• On the Mason Dixon Trail sign, be sure to check out the Legacies and Lessons program by scanning the QR code with your smart phone.
• Proceed to the top of the hill. Here you will find a large compass and a great view of the Susquehanna River basin.
• To return to your vehicle, turn around and follow the trail back down the way you came.
