This letterbox is part of the GO and Be Active! program in York County, PA. It will be available from June 1, 2016 – August 14, 2016. Further details about the program may be found at www.goyork.org.
The GO and Be Active! program requires you to search for up to 30 “activities” – wooden posts with engraved plates on them, instead of a traditional letterbox and stamp. Please carefully rub the impression (with a colored pencil or crayon) from the engraved plate onto your GO and Be Active! rubbing sheet, available at any York County Library.
This letterbox is located at Veterans Memorial Park and should be accessed from the parking lot off Rockdale/Vander Avenue. GO York! level of difficulty = Easy.
• Begin your journey by parking at baseball field #4. Keeping field #4 on the right and a brown building on the left, follow the paved path.
• Make a right onto the grass behind the fence and pine trees.
• Continue walking straight. You should pass tennis courts and a soccer field on your left.
• Continue walking straight toward the skateboard ramps.
• Turn left onto the paved path in-between two tall wooden poles in front of the skateboard ramps.
• The post you are seeking will be in front of one of the pine trees on the left.
• To return to your vehicle, turn around and return the way you came.
