This letterbox is part of the GO and Be Active! program in York County, PA. It will be available from June 1, 2016 – August 14, 2016. Further details about the program may be found at www.goyork.org.

The GO and Be Active! program requires you to search for up to 30 “activities” – wooden posts with engraved plates on them, instead of a traditional letterbox and stamp. Please carefully rub the impression (with a colored pencil or crayon) from the engraved plate onto your GO and Be Active! rubbing sheet, available at any York County Library.

This letterbox is located at Codorus State Park and should be accessed from the LaHo Trailhead parking lot off Blooming Grove Road. GO York! level of difficulty = Hard.

• From the parking lot, proceed to the start of the LaHo Trail. The lake will be on your right.
• Continue following the trail as it bends around the lake.
• Keep on the trail closest to the water.
• You will come to a wooden bench overlooking the lake. Stop for a rest and enjoy the view.
• Once you are rested, continue down the trail.
• After walking for awhile, the trail will round a small cove. Keep walking until you reach an intersection in the trail. The trail will look like an old road.
• Make a left onto the old road and an immediate right on the trail that that heads up the hill through the woods.
• Keep walking on this trail. You will pass an old cemetery on your right.
• After following the trail as it weaves through the woods, you will again be able to see the lake to your right. Continue following the trail.
• After following the trail to the bottom of the hill, you will come to a wooden bridge. Carefully cross the bridge and continue following the trail.
• Next you will come to another wooden bridge. Carefully cross the bridge and keep walking.
• Walk about 40 yards past the wood bridge. This is where you will find the post.
• To return to your car, turn around and go back the way that you came.

Hike length: 1-2 miles
