This box celebrates one of Ozaukee counties hidden gems. A mountain bike park. Trails maintained by the Ozaukee mountain bike group. The park is located on Pleasant Valley Road in between the towns of Grafton and Saukville.Trails for both mountain bikers and hikers alike. The trails are open year round for fat tire winter biking, snow showing, cross country skiing, mountain biking and hiking.
Start at pleasant valley park and trails. Park facing the trail signage. The mountain bike trail head will be to your right. Go forward following the hiking trail. It curves around the new pavilion. Rest room break if needed:) you will see a no snowmobile sign to your left. Keep walking. You will pass the mountain bike trail to your right. Maybe you'll see someone in action on the trail. Take the first trail to your right. This trail is used year round for hiking, biking, snowshoeing and cross country skiing. You will see a bench to your right. Take a break or keep walking. You are on the right path! You will see a pond to your left and another bench to your right. And another. Take the hiking trail marked by the brown sign to your right. Where the trail forks stay to your right. The trail goes up a small hill. This trail sure is Rooty. Follow the trail straight to the boardwalk. Stop at the observation deck. Another cedarburg Lions project. Continue on the boardwalk until it ends and follow the trail up the hill. Where you see the two trees on both sides of the trail, the one on the right with a strand bulge in its bottom. Stop. At 170 degrees walk up the hill 15 paces to the large Rooty tree. Be careful of bike riding muggles above on the mountain bike trail. Stamp and rehide well. First finders gift for the lucky 1st!

Hike length: 1-2 miles
