Cookies in Paradise

This letterbox is placed by the Juniors of Girl Scout Troop 891. The story starts on the path to the right of the playground that takes you to the Marsh Overlook. The walk is about 40 minutes and stay on the path to avoid poison ivy (not at the box). Continue to walk on the path to the left to exit the trail after finding the letterbox. We hope that you enjoy your hike while looking for our box.

Juliette was enjoying a walk in the woods one day. She loved being outdoors and taking in all of what Mother Nature had to offer.

She walked down the path and saw a holly tree on her right. She walk over a small bridge covering a babbling brook that took her down an amazing path to the left through the trees.

A large oak tree with split trunks raised majestically into the sky. She traveled on the path until she could see a beautiful overlook on the left. “This place is so beautiful, “ she thought and started to sing a song.

The marsh expanded out in front of her – she could hear the wind rustling in the tall grass and the birds cheering her on. At the top of the second overlook, she started feeling hungry. “I need to find a place to eat my snack,” she thought to herself.

She continued on the main path to the left until she saw some ‘sweethearts’ etched on a tree. “People should respect our world,” she thought and picked up a piece of trash found on the ground.

She continued on her walk until she saw Big Brother Oak Tree. She took a break near his fence and closed her eyes. “This truly is paradise,” she said, as she ate her cookies.

Hike length: 1-2 miles
