This series is dedicated to the memory of two of the most loved and missed Grandfathers. My mothers father John K Hanson and my fathers father Walter Brewer. Papa John passed away when I was 9 years old of brain cancer, never skipping a beat as the cancer slowly ravaged his body. And Grandpa Jr who was tragically killed in a car crash in Kentucky. I asked my parents to join me in planting these boxes. This is a very special series, so please do your best to rehide these boxes so they last a long time:) My Papa John was a talented trumpet player, an avid outdoorsmen and construction business owner. My Grandpa Jr an Air Force veteran, jokester and writer, only using his trusty type writer.
Start at regner park main parking lot off of park st. Take trail to woods on hill off of parking lot. Handicapped parking is right off of this trail. You will be heading nw. Look for small trail to your right. Take this trail down to forked tree with large hole in bottom. It's about 10 Paces down the path. Tree to your left. Look inside for grandpa jr. He should be typing up something inside. Head back up to trail.
Box number two......when You get to paved trail take a left. The swimming lake will be to your right. See the trail straight ahead on top of the hill? Head west up the trail. Where the trail forks with stairs go right up stairs. At the first large rock to your left go down the hill into the forest ( left if you are facing the rock on the trail or straight ahead if you are directly facing the stone)in between the two trees about 27 paces until you see the fallen tree. Look at the lower end. There's a hole. Papa john should be tooting his horn here.
Hike length: 1 mile
