Start on staircase off of corner of gravel parking lot near pool

Continue left on path (blue and white marks)

At first fork, stay right, and follow path along stream

May be small stream of water running through large rocks; stay to right of biggest rock and continue straight along bank of brook

Traverse over two fallen trees crossing into path

Continue past uprooted tree on right (stream will still be to the left)

Follow path for a while; stay left along stream (eventually you will come to a large rock on right of path with blue star painted on it)

Go up slight incline and continue on path (trees still marked blue and white)

Path continues up and to the right, with step-like rocks going up

When arriving at top of incline, stay left

Path becomes steep when nearing large pool of water and small waterfall (stay to right of path)

Continue past pool of water, where a fallen tree has fallen on the right and is slanted over the path

Continue straight past trees with blue and white arrows; you will pass a series of four tree trunks, on which initials and names are carved

Stay left on path until you come to a T; turn right at T

Travel about 30 paces until you reach fallen tree split in half, with narrow path going through halves; letterbox will be underneath left half of split tree (bright green cover)

Hike length: 1 mile
