Head, Heart, Hands, and Health are the four Hs in 4-H, and they are the four values members work on through fun and engaging programs.

◦Head - Managing, Thinking
◦Heart - Relating, Caring
◦Hands - Giving, Working
◦Health - Being, Living

Use your head, your heart, your hands, and your health to find this one located in the park where 4-H activities are held.

On Stover Road on the east side of Bellaire (east and south of the airport), there is an entrance to Craven Park next to the Conservation Office. This park hosts a variety of family activities such as softball, baseball, camping, 4-H, and hiking. When you enter from Stover Road you will see ball fields to the west, 4-H buildings to the north, camping to the NW, and the Cedar River Trailhead to the east. Park near this. View the trail map. I am very short so you may have to adjust your steps a bit one way or the other.

Enter this beautiful forest at the trailhead. Notice the Bigtooth Aspen sign affixed to the tree. 30 steps more to the blue arrow. (There were some wonderful mushrooms growing on the trail the day I was there.) 40 steps more to a wooden post. 50 steps to a fallen tree trying caught in motion overhead that you must walk under. Walk to the next blue arrow, post, and red maple sign close together. Don't turn left. Instead, stop when facing these. About 25 ft. find a three-from-one shaggy barked tree.

I love this trail. It is peaceful, educational, and has several trailheads. I hope you enjoy this too and venture farther to find other letterboxes along the way.

Please stamp with green for 4-H, double bag, clamp into the container being sure that the baggies do not get caught in the seal, and hide well inside the nook of the tree. Please cover with leaves and weight it down with sticks being sure it cannot accidentally be seen. Please record your find.

Hike length: 0.5 miles
