*disclaimer* this box is not in the town of Longview but it is the nearest town*

Growing up in Rural America (NE Oregon) FFA (once known as future farmers of America) was a BIG part of my 4 years in High School. Everytime I see an owl, it takes me back to FFA and the opening ceremony of every meeting.
"The owl is a time honored emblem of knowledge and wisdom. Being older than the rest of you I am asked to advise you from time to time as the need arises. I hope that my advise will always be based on true knowledge and ripened with wisdom"

To find this letterbox:
Travel south of Longview and turn right (west) on 532. Follow this road approx 30 minutes, the road is very bumpy at times.
Park at the Bear Pond Parking lot and you will see the trail that goes up the hill. (1km round trip)
Follow the trail to the landing at top of the hill and the trail takes a hard right, down the hill and back up again. You will pass a box that says "Attention Anglers" and then will see a rocky crossing (the most popular fishing spot) cross the rocks and just at the far edge you will see a broken off tree stump on the left about 4 feet high. On the far (north) side of the stump you will find the box hidden under rocks and maybe some tree bark if it hasn't washed away. Make sure to replant securely so it doesn't wash away.
Bear Pond is full of Arctic Grayling and is catch and release fishing only.

(There are multiple ways to reach the bear pond parking lot) one idea is to come the way I previously described, continue up to "the hump" and find CarrieOnThePrarie 's letterbox (LB: 69887) then continue on taking a right at the T (opposite of Coleman toward Hwy 40/Cataract Creek/Highwood House and you can also find my letterbox (Lb: 70260) at the Highwood House. Then you can turn East onto hwy 40 and it will take you back to Longview or West it will take you to Canmore.

Remember: you are in bear country. Always carry bear spray and be aware of your surroundings. More on Bear Pond: http://www.albertafishingguide.com/location/water/all/bear-pond#map
