Difficulty: Easy
Distance to Letterbox: 100 yards each way
The King David letterbox is located in Finch Arboretum in Spokane, WA. Like David's battle against the giant, so was my journey in letterboxing. Silver Eagle and I found our first letterbox in this park 14 years ago. We came back to Texas ready for more, but soon learned that only 9 boxes had clues posted, and most of those were missing. So we began the seeding process, finding each other's boxes. Soon more joined in, and now Texas is thriving with letterboxes!!! Finch park is a great place to stroll around, and will always have a special place in my heart!!!
Directions:
From downtown, go west on Second Ave to Sunset Hwy. Continue west on Sunset past Government Way and just before F Street. The sign and entrance are located on the left side of Sunset. Park in Main lot.
To the Letterbox:
From main parking lot, walk down the paved path for about 100 yards to a small rock on the left side of path (about 5 yards). You should be able to see a huge rock outcropping to the right about 30 yards away. Walk to the right side of the first rock, then around to back by the big tree. Find the crevice in the rock about 2 foot from the tree. Box is about 2 feet in, under small rock pile
Hike length: 0.5 miles
