The former Resaca Ranch on Lake Austin, once owned by the Baldwin family, was purchased by the City of Austin in 1982 from developers Gary Bradley and John Wooley for $3.6 million. It has been turned into Commons Ford Ranch Park with opportunities for boating, fishing, picnicking, swimming, hiking and finding this letterbox. FYI, even though the website says the park is only open from 1-6, it is now open from 10-6 every day except Monday.

Directions:
From Hwy 71 go east on Bee Cave Rd to to Cuernavaca Dr, turn left then next left on Commons Ford Rd. Continue about 1.5 miles then turn left into Commons Ford Ranch Park and park in lot on right just past log cabin and before Commons Ford Creek crossing.

Clues:
Cross the road and walk uphill on the trail, staying right at all jcts, to bluff overlooking the creek. Go left and follow creek upstream about 100 yards to fence across the creek just before an open rocky area with small seasonal waterfalls. From the fence, go left uphill to the post of another fence, then go right 8 steps to multi-trunk cedar tree. LB is at left base of tree under a big rock and needles. I highly recommend taking the box down to the pretty rocky area to stamp in, maybe while dangling your feet in the creek like I did. When you get back to your car you can follow the trail on that side of the road to the Colorado River to swim, fish or picnic.

Hike length: 0.5 miles
