The Hamilton Greenbelt trail network, including Smith Greenbelt and Hurst Creek Preserve, now offers several miles of both developed and primitive trails that wander along Hurst and Yaupon Creeks. Many birds can be seen, including the Green-backed Heron, which is the subject of this box at Smith Greenbelt.

Directions:
Go west on Lakeway Blvd, then right on Lohmans Crossing Rd to Justice Center parking on left or Hamilton/Smith Greenbelt parking on right.

Clues:
If parked at Greenbelt parking lot, walk on trail under Lohmans Crossing Rd to Smith Greenbelt. If parked at Justice Center, walk down the hill and right to cross the creek and go right on trail into Smith Greenbelt. Continue past a bridge to a green bench on the left just after a boardwalk. Walk uphill behind bench about 15 steps to large cedar tree leaning over the trail. LB is at back base under rocks. Please be discreet and replace as described.

Hike length: 0.1 miles
