3-8-05 UP DATE: Apparently, Sparky dug himself out and is now missing! We plan to replace the letterbox. Please check back at a later date. We will post again when the new letterbox is placed.

Difficulty: easy

Directions:
From I-405- Take exit 4 towards Maple Valley/Enumclaw. Follow Maple Valley Hwy. to 140th Wy. Turn right up hill to Petrovitsky Rd. Turn left. Turn left at sign to Petrovitsky Park(if you pass 184, you went too far).

Petrovitsky Park is a large park with soccer and baseball fields, a playground, and ample parking.

Clues:
George kicked the soccer ball as hard as he could between the goalie and the goal post. The referee blew his whistle. It was a goal! It was the third quarter and the Geese now led the Ducks 3-2. Suddenly the ball whizzed by over his head! The goalie, mad at being scored on, had thrown it at him. The referee went to restrain him, and George noticed that his dog, a collie named Sparkie, had captured the soccer ball after it was thrown, and was running off with it. George called to him, but Sparkie just ran with it. George figured he better get the ball back. From the goal closest to the land of recycled rubber, Sparkie followed the trail to soccer field #2. Then he turned to 125* and sped off to a spotlight straight abead, with George in his wake. Sparkie went North 2 spotlights, then continued North, then West on black asphalt. He was lost from sight by George at the first picnic table. George followed him to the right down a trail through the woods, turned right, and passed between two nurse stumps. He continued at 160* for about 18 paces to small clearing, and turned to the left down a small trail. A little ways down the path on the left, he found Sparkie hiding under a fallen moss-covered log.
PS: The log is longer than 4 feet with ferns that hid Sparkie so well that George had to reach under it and search for the ball.
