The San Gabriel River Trail (recently renamed the Randy Morrow Trail) is a 6.6 mile mixed-surface trail that follows the scenic North and South San Gabriel Rivers from downtown Georgetown to the Goodwater Trail on Lake Georgetown. Both are open to biking and hiking and this series of 4 boxes will allow you to sample part of the trail from San Gabriel Park. The first box contains the only logbook so you can stamp the angel first and add accessories to it as you find the other boxes. Please be discreet since the trail can be busy.

Directions:
From I35 go east on Williams Dr for 0.1 mile, left on N Austin Ave for 0.2 mile and right on Chamber Way for 0.3 mile to Lower Park Rd parking in San Gabriel Park.

Box 1: Gabriel
Walk toward San Gabriel River to Randy Morrow Trail sign and go right (west) on it past 0.2 mile marker to bench on right dedicated to Mark Mindell. Facing right side of bench, angle right 9 steps to small multi-trunk tree. LB with logbook is within trunks under a rock and leaves.

Box 2: Halo
Continue on trail past 0.4 mile marker to bench on right with water fountain. Walk behind fountain 10 steps uphill to four big trees in clump. LB is between left two trees under a rock and leaves.

Box 3: Harp
Continue on trail under I35 as you cross river to sign for Rivery Park just before 1 mile marker. Go right 20 steps, passing a gray meter box, to large evergreen tree at edge of woods. LB is at back base under a rock and leaves.

Box 4: Horn
Continue on trail past 1.8 mile marker to bench on right dedicated to John Philpott with view of spillway and golf course. Go behind bench about 18 steps to large rock just right of small multi-trunk tree. LB is behind it under a smaller rock and leaves. I recommend continuing a little further to Chandler Park for more nice views before heading back.

Hike length: 3-5 miles
