Legend has it that a treasure may be found in the Hamlet of Southern Pines in the County of Moore in the District of Northern Carolina. To find this treasure, it is said, the following MUST be strictly obeyed:
Take the FIRST Highway south from the Village of Vass until one finds a sign that leads to the local infirmary. Then follow the road marked XXII in a northern direction. You will pass the Monastery of Saint Joseph, then the dwelling of Russell the FishMonger, and at the bottom of the hill, turn left into The King’s Reserve. Proceed to the stable yard and dismount. Find and ascend the steps. Follow a path toward an area of respite, and there should be a body of water to your right. Do not attempt to disturb the waterfowl in the area, for they are the King’s own. At all times, follow the path closest to the water. A short ten-minute hike will take you to an observation deck jutting out into the water. Look for the treasure under the first post on the left side of the deck.
