Terrain Difficulty: Easy (flat, 1 mile RT)
Recommended Ink: green
Status: alive
Paul D. Rushing Park is a 232-acre gem in the Katy Prairie that offers an abundance of recreational opportunities. It also includes the Chain-Of-Lakes wildlife habitat that consists of a series of interconnected lakes that provided the perfect habitat for birds, and a native tallgrass prairie preservation area where this box can be found.
Directions:
From Hwy 290 go south on Becker Rd for 1 mile, turn right to stay on it for another 0.6 mile, turn left on Katy Hockley Rd for 6.3 miles, turn right to stay on it for about 0.4 mile and turn left into third entrance of Paul D. Rushing Park. Park near the playground.
Clues:
Walk right of playground to middle of softball fields and continue past them to jct with Nature Area. Go left, then take first right, crossing 2 bridges, to observation blind on left. Go under right side at beginning of wood deck and look on ledge above first post for LB.
Hike length: 1 mile
