Though not the capital, Auckland is the largest city in New Zealand and is known as the City of Sails because of its numerous yacht marinas and sailboats anchoring offshore. It is situated on a narrow strait filled with islands, including Waiheke Island, where you can admire the City of Sails while finding this box.
Directions:
Take the Waiheke Ferry from Auckland Ferry terminal at 99 Quay St to the island.
Clues:
From Waiheke Wharf walk past terminal to Te Ara Hura Track along the shore on the right, following the yellow posts across a bridge to a jct in the trees. Go right and up on Church Bay Track, staying right at all jcts, and continue past Whetumatirau Lookout. Go down and up steps then right (away from yellow posts) on path to peninsula with great view. As path bends left to end, step down next to bush for LB under sticks and rocks.
