The Great Barrier Reef is the world's largest coral reef system composed of over 2,900 individual reefs and 900 islands stretching for over 2,300 km over an area of approximately 344,400 square km. It reaches from Bramble Cay in the north to Lady Elliot Island, its southernmost island and a place I visited. Instead of placing the box on this sensitive island, I chose North Stradbroke Island instead. It is not part of the Great Barrier Reef, but is a great place to visit anyway.

Drive to Toondah Harbour on Emmett Drive and park in ferry lot. Take ferry to North Stradbroke Island, then take bus to Point Lookout.

Walk on North Gorge Walk to bench at first overlook of beach. Go right past wood railing 20 steps to two palm trees on right. LB is between them under fronds. Please be discreet and replace as described.
