This letterbox is part of the GO and Build a Better World! program in York County, PA. It will be available from June 3, 2017 to August 20, 2017. Further details about the program may be found at www.goyork.org.

The GO and Build a Better World! program requires you to search for up to 30 “landmarks” – wooden posts with engraved plates on them, instead of a traditional letterbox and stamp. Please use a colored pencil or crayon to carefully rub the impression onto your GO and Build a Better World! rubbing sheet, available for free at any York County Library.

This letterbox is located at Clayton Ely Emig Park in Hallam Township. GO York! level of difficulty = Easy.

- Park in the lower parking lot and walk toward the Oak Pavilion.
- Locate the wooden bridge leading to the playground and follow the gravel path over the bridge.
- Notice the two signs on the other side of the bridge. One sign includes a picture – follow the water in the direction it is going (downstream) and locate a similar sign on the other side of the creek.
- Walk back across the wooden bridge, making sure that you count the number of planks in its floor. Write the number of planks here ____. Add these digits and fill in the blank below.
- Walk toward the sign you noticed on the right in the distance. (You should be back on the pavilion side of the creek.)
- Pass by the sign and continue along the grass lawn past the next bridge. Do not cross this bridge!
- The grass will turn into a gravel path. Continue to follow the creek along this gravel path and past two benches until you find a wide meadow path on your left.
- Follow the meadow path until you reach a manhole cover in the ground. Turn left and follow this trail up the hill, making sure to always stay to the left when the trail splits.
- As you walk up the trail, locate two “skinny” trees that look alike and are growing on each side of the trail.
- Before you reach the second tree, look left and walk about ____ steps to the post.
- Follow the path up the hill, turn left at the split, and then back downhill to your vehicle.
