This letterbox is part of the GO and Build a Better World! program in York County, PA. It will be available from June 3, 2017 to August 20, 2017. Further details about the program may be found at www.goyork.org.

The GO and Build a Better World! program requires you to search for up to 30 “landmarks” – wooden posts with engraved plates on them, instead of a traditional letterbox and stamp. Please use a colored pencil or crayon to carefully rub the impression onto your GO and Build a Better World! rubbing sheet, available for free at any York County Library.

This letterbox is located at Apollo County Park and may be accessed from the Shenks Ferry Road parking area. GO York! level of difficulty = Moderate.

- Starting from the Shenks Ferry Road parking lot, walk past the yellow gate onto the wooded trail. As you are following this trail there will be a field on your left and woods on your right.
- Continue following the trail up the hill until you come to a field entrance.
- At the field entrance make a right onto trail 2A. This trail goes back through the woods.
- Continue following the trail until you come to a trail intersection. At the intersection make a right and continue following trail 2A.
- Follow trail 2A for about 100 yards until you come to another trail intersection. At the intersection turn left onto trail 2.
- Walk for about 200 yards until you come to another trail intersection. Here is where you will find the post.
- Once you have found the post, remain on trail 2 back through the woods.
- Walk uphill on this trail until you come to another intersection in the trail. Turn right and follow the trail out through the woods. You will eventually come to a field entrance.
- Remain left, following the trail out along the field edge, and then straight back to your vehicle.
