Walking distance: about 0.4 mile round trip
Trail difficulty: easy, flat paved sidewalks.
The answers to the questions in the clues for this webbox are located in Perry's Victory and International Peace Memorial along the coast of north central Ohio. Letterboxes are not allowed to be physically placed in national parks and national memorials administered by the U. S. National Park Service. So, I have created this webbox. You must actually visit the area of the clues; however, you need to go to the Web to obtain your finders stamp and sign the log book.
Go to the Visitor Center on Toledo Avenue.
In front of the Visitor Center in a landscaped area along the street find a small granite monument commemorating a ceremony. In the 4th line what is the 1st word ______? [I suggest you take photos of these monuments and signs to prevent future problems!]
Now head south to Delaware Avenue and turn left on it. Walk to the end to a small picnic area. Look for a colorful interpretive sign titled “Sand Loving Plants”. In the paragraph along the right edge of the sign (starts with the words “The sandy shores”), in the 6th line what is the 3rd word ______?
To create the mystery word, put the word from the second question on the end of the word from the first question (without spaces). Paste the mystery word into this URL (replacing the question marks “???” with the mystery word):
http://nostalgia.esmartkid.com/???.html
Now, plug/paste/type the new URL into your web browser and you will have completed your search for the Perry's Victory and Peace Memorial Webbox
.
Please record your find at www.letterboxing.org/ .
Click here for a list of all my national parks and monuments webboxes.
