This Native American burial mound was occupied by two different forts, before becoming Hercules’ estate. He built the original house for his wife Jane; later, his son built the current house in its place.

Even if you don't take the official tour, you'll recognize the east-facing front entrance by the 3-block step for descending from a carriage, and also from the state historic marker. From here, walk north along the hedge line until you reach the second large tree inside the yard. Stop when the utility pole is on your right, then take one more tiny step forward. Look left at the bottom of this bush, buried securely under sticks.

Hike length: 0.1 miles
