Tranquility

Southford Falls State Park
Oxford/Southbury

The park entrance is on Route 188 just south of the junction with Route 67 in Southbury, close to the Oxford Town Line.

Trail map can be found at:
http://www.ct.gov/dep/cwp/view.asp?a=2716&q=325088&depNav_GID=1650&depNav=|

Clues:

Southford Falls State Park, a scenic place.
Follow the red trail, either way your choice.
It goes in a circle with a tower on one end.
On the brook side, steep uphill you will find.
Spot a trail sign going up, you’re getting close.
Then Stumble upon a rounded knee high rock.
Stand atop this rock, now do not slip off!
See the tree that looks like a V at 160 degrees.
Now Sight through that tree, 30 paces yonder.
Under evergreens, Tranquility awaits in crevice.

Note: We followed deer tracks to this spot. See if you can find evidence of their being there!

And… be sure to also do Rich and Lisa’s Southford Falls and Firetower box.
