La Ronda trail contains 3 letterboxes (round trip hike is 1 mile or less) You can use 28072 Camino La Ronda, as it is nearby to the trailhead.
Box #1:
-GPS your location to Camino La Ronda in San Juan Capistrano
-Drive until the big curve. Park on the street at the base of the equestrian train it is marked with a GREEN sign with a HORSE, BELL, and SWALLOWS on it. if you've gotten to the 2nd stop sign, you've gone too far.
-take the trail along the creek. This will take you behind some houses along a creek (don't worry this is a public trail).
-You will walk less than 1/4 mile down this trail. On your right hand side, locate the 1st bridge.
-walk down 4 steps off the trail.
-turn your body left towards the large trunked tree.
- Crouch down and uncover box #1 at the base of the tree. Located in a red pouch!
*please put materials back into the pouch and re hide of course!*
Box #2:
-Continue along the equestrian trail.
-Locate the SECOND bench on your right hand side along the path. The bench is made out of wood.
-face the bench
-Just to the left of the bench, reach into the base of the multi trunk plant.
-hidden under the bark is a red pouch, box #2 siting in the middle of the base of the tree.
-*please put materials back into the pouch and re hide of course!*
Box #3:
-continue along the equestrian trail.
-walk to the park and up to the grassy area.
-sit on the green bench an take a nice rest in the shade, you've earned it!
- Locate the sign with the San Juan Capistrano seal on it highlighting the park rules and regulations. This sign has a wooden frame.
-Face the sign and reach around the left side marked by an X. The letterbox is in a burlap pouch. It is VELCROed to the sign. Please be gentle when pulling it off the sign.
-Make sure you tie off the bag in an easy to undo knot when done.
*please put materials back into the pouch and re hide of course!*
Happy Letterboxing!
