Kindness Rocks
Legacy Project by Troop 75303
In preparation for this letterboxing hike, you may want to visit www.kindnessrocksprojects.com. At the end of this hike, you will have the opportunity to leave and/or take a rock that inspires you!
• Enter Town Forest in the middle of Wood End Elementary soccer field.
• Turn right at first blue trail marker. Go straight keep going come down hill and go to the cranberry dam. The trail here changes to red, keep going. You will pass over a little bridge here.
• Go a little farther and then turn left. You will pass a huge fallen tree - keep going straight on the red trail.
• At the “T” take a right to go on the boardwalk. Keep going until you get across the boardwalk keep going straight - don’t take any turns.
• When you have reached a triangular patch of trees go around them and straight into the pine forest. Walk straight to the fire place and benches.
• When you get to the circle go straight across the main road/fire road.
• There will be four boulders. Look for the 2 that are touching and go to the back side where they meet. Look for the cave in the rocks. There you will find the letter box.
• Retrace your steps out of the town forest.
• When you are almost at the end of the trail and the soccer field is to your left, go right. Then take an immediate left when you see a blue blaze.
• Follow that trail. When you can see the road up ahead, look for the Kindness Rocks Garden on your right. The Kindness Rocks Garden is in front of a beautiful oak tree with a blue blaze on it.
• You may leave a rock, take a rock, or simply observe. Most importantly, let it inspire you to spread kindness to yourself and others.
• After visiting the rock garden, you can either continue onto the road (Sunset Rock), or turn around and head back to the soccer field.
